Bruce Palmieri stays active in his community through involvement with various organizations. Bruce is very active with Catholic Charities of Baltimore and serves on various committees including the Planned Giving Advisory Committee where he spent 2 years as chair. Bruce and Tracy developed a donor advised fund, called The Bruce and Tracy Palmieri Education Fund, which supports one of Catholic Charities missions of educating children in the inner city of Baltimore. He is also a founding member and active leader for the Phi Hexaton Educational Fund; a scholarship which honors Bruce’s deceased friends from college. The fund awards scholarships to Towson University students who exemplify ideals of the fraternity; Brotherhood, Scholarship, and Character. Bruce has also been an active member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) for almost 30 years and has been on the executive committee for 10 years, including President. In June 2018, Bruce received the highest honor from NAIFA-Maryland, the Paul J Murphy Award for long-term and dedicated service and was inducted into the NAIFA-Maryland Hall of Fame.
Gray Shannahan and his wife Danielle are passionate about giving back to his community in various ways. In early 2022, he assisted with organizing a grassroots campaign to send medical supplies to Ukraine as well as sleeping bags and travel supplies to refugees who were escaping Ukraine into Poland. For several years they have been supporting the Yellow Ribbon Fund, an organization that provides support for wounded service men and women. Gray and Danielle are also passionate about the Severn River Association with raising money and awareness for cleaning up the Severn River which is an important tributary to the Chesapeake Bay.
SUPPORTING ALEX'S LEMONADE STAND FOUNDATION
Bruce & Gray also actively support Northwestern Mutual’s philanthropic partner Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation through volunteering and fundraising. This organization is committed to providing support to children and families battling childhood cancer as well as funding research for a cure. In 2019 Palmieri & Shannahan's team raised over $10,000 for ALSF through donors and proceeds from lemonade stands in their community.
